Architectural & Engineering Blueprint for New Knitting Mills

Setting up a productive circular knitting unit in industrial zones like Narayanganj BSCIC, Fatullah, or Gazipur requires careful space, electrical, and pneumatic utility planning.

1. Floor Space & Machine Bay Sizing

A standard 34-inch circular machine with circular yarn creel occupies approximately 3.8m x 3.8m of floor area.

For 10 machines, plan a column-free floor area of 3,500 to 4,500 sq. ft. to provide adequate 1.5m aisles for yarn trolleys and finished fabric roll transport.

2. Electrical Connected Load

Each circular machine features a 5.5 kW to 7.5 kW main inverter motor, plus top/bottom oscillating creel fans (approx. 1.0 kW).

Total connected machine load for 10 units: approximately 75 kW to 85 kW.

Ensure automated voltage regulators (AVR) and a dedicated 125 kVA standby diesel generator to prevent inverter trips during power brownouts.

3. Compressed Air (CFM) & Pneumatic Ring Line

Continuous lint cleaning requires dry, oil-free compressed air:

Provide 0.4 to 0.6 m³/min per machine at 0.6 to 0.8 MPa pressure.

A 15 HP to 20 HP rotary screw compressor equipped with an air refrigerated dryer and storage receiver ensures clean airflow without moisture buildup on needles.

4. Humidity & Temperature Standards

Maintain room temperature at 24°C–28°C and relative humidity (RH) at 65%–70% to retain cotton yarn elasticity and prevent thread breakage.
